Humanity: The Human Condition
Life isn't as complicated as many believe but it
does seem to be designed for those who can figure out how to use it. Or misuse it.
It’s the people that make things difficult.
Humans are quite remarkable creatures. When a person wants to protect something or
someone and when they put all they have into it then few things can stand in
the way. A person has the capability to
be more ferocious than a lion, run faster and further than a cheetah, strength
to outmatch bears, able to find loopholes and short-cuts better than rats.
Humans adapt quickly to different environments. They can take on workloads that will drop a
horse. Humans have flexibility, balance,
and dexterity. They have emotional
traits such has compassion, forgiveness, empathy, love and determination.
We have worked our way up the evolutionary ladder
and become the dominant species on the planet.
But for all that, all that we are and all we have accomplished
we still cling to such destructive ideation of racism, homophobia, prejudice,
slavery, violence and brutality against each other.
There is no telling the new heights we can reach if
we work together. We more than have the
capability to end war, poverty, starvation but we instead choose to horde power
and supplies. It’s a one for one and a
none for all world out there.
There are of course individuals who use their power
and wealth to try and make the world around them a better place but many people
are obstinate and resistant to change even when that change is for the
better.
Change is never easy for anyone and that is why it
is so important that it happens as early in life as possible. We must teach our children to be better than
ourselves and request of them to do the same.
